About Me

Since 2018 I have worked to offer a unique massage therapy business which offers people of all ages the opportunity to embrace getting to know their bodies, injuries, lifestyles and work with me to create lasting change. Massage makes you feel fantastic, boosting your immune system and making you more aware of your body and I want to share these benefits through Viridian.

As a Physiology graduate I am passionate about science and our amazing bodies. I just love it, the complexity, intricacies, movements, relationships, adaptations and capabilities. I also love the outdoors and my spare time is spent riding bikes with Tom and our dog Duke, trail running in the hills or wandering through our local woods.

A few years ago I undertook a charity sporting challenge which saw my sister and I head to Guatemala and climb volcanoes to raise money for Alzheimer's Research UK. It was a real push to achieve and without training and my knowledge of looking after my body, it would have been overwhelming. This experience helped refocus what I wanted to be doing for work and from this, I signed up to go back and study massage.

I have received some of the best teaching experiences from The Western Massage School, an accredited Scottish based school running amazing courses from Glasgow Caledonian University. The support and knowledge of the team are second to none and it dawned on me that I could make this dream of mine become a reality. Without a second thought after an intensive 9 months of studying, I rolled straight onto the next diploma course to work on securing my sports and remedial qualification.

By the end of 2020, I was the proud owner of two diplomas (and my previous Physiology Hons degree) and get to deliver treatments to others which I know will make a difference. I love working with sport-focused clients as their drive for improvement is always so impressive. However, getting the opportunity to support someone who is struggling with their daily life due to an injury, simply ageing or physical and mental health concerns can be hugely satisfying.

I have a very personal connection with Alzheimer's dementia and have seen first hand the impact this can have on the individual and families lives. I hope in the future to work with full-time carers to provide some relief and "me" time for them to continue their selfless support for loved ones. As I hope is clear from this webpage, an ever-growing passion of mine is working to adopt more environmentally friendly and “green” practices in my life and share these with my business. I believe massage can be offered without compromising these passions. I have worked to source and practice in the most earth-friendly way and will continue to share and embrace this as Viridian grows.
